Sam Bradford, DeMeco Ryans expect to play in the Eagles-Packers game

New, comments

Here's a quick update on the Eagles' injury situation.

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles held their final practice prior to the team's preseason game against the Green Bay Packers this weekend on Thursday afternoon. After practice, several players offered updates on their status heading into this week's game.

Sam Bradford expects to play

To no surprise, Bradford will suit up once again. It's unclear exactly how much Bradford will play. During his press conference on Thursday, Chip Kelly said the team hadn't decided his snap count yet. Kelly did say that the weather in Green Bay could impact Bradford's playing time.

"Weather would be a factor. There is rain coming in Green Bay," said. "It's 54° currently right now in Green Bay.  I was just monitoring the weather earlier.  So a lot of different factors, start with the weather though."

While reporters weren't clear if Kelly was joking or not, it does seem possible the Eagles wouldn't let Bradford play too much in poor conditions. Otherwise, one would think Bradford will play more than the one drive he did against the Baltimore Ravens last week.

DeMeco Ryans and Kiko Alonso expect to play

Earlier this week, Kiko Alonso said he expects to play against the Packers. Now Ryans is saying he will suit up as well. Ryans doesn't currently seem to be 100%, but he expects to be fine by the opener. The veteran's status bears watching.

Zach Ertz and Marcus Smith still out

Ertz told reporters he'll know more about his time-frame to return next week.

Smith suffered a hamstring strain on week ago from today, which means he will probably miss one to two more weeks.

Josh Huff might not play

Huff isn't injured; he's dealing with a personal tragedy.
