Barner making case to be Eagles' fourth RB - Inquirer
"He's making a huge case," Kelly said after the game. "You go back-to-back weeks with a punt return for a touchdown. I think he made some good plays in the run game. . . . I think he's putting himself in position. We talked about it last week and he's continuing to do that."
Eagles 53-man roster projection, version 3.0 - PhillyVoice
Because Tebow has a different skill set and the Eagles simply want to keep him, Barkley had to do something special to stick with the team, and he has not. Also, yes, I realize that Tebow's inclusion on the inactive list would of course eliminate his added skill set. At some point, players on the roster will get hurt, and some of the inactive will have to fill in. That could be when Tebow sees some action in real games.
A Year Later - Iggles Blitz
Last summer the Eagles started the preseason 0-2. That’s hardly a big deal since preseason records don’t matter at all. But the Eagles lost to Chicago 34-28 and to New England 42-35. The Eagles gave up 76 points in those games. Ouch. This year the Eagles are 2-0. That’s nice, but doesn’t necessarily mean anything. The scores do offer some hints. The Eagles beat the Colts 36-10 and the Ravens 40-17. Two preseason games don’t tell us the defense is going to be great. Opponents haven’t had a full complement of starters out there. Schemes are vanilla. And starters are playing limited snaps. Still, there is no denying the progress that has been made this year.
Four Downs: Sam Bradford’s Debut - Birds 24/7
Jason Peters handled Terrell Suggs masterfully on passing plays, but he may have been even more impressive in the run game. He did a fantastic job of second-level blocking, which was the key to Mathews' 14-yard touchdown. Watch below (courtesy of the Eagles) as Peters quickly stands up Suggs so Brent Celek has time to get inside leverage and seal off the 'C' gap. Peters then runs five yards down field to block inside linebacker C.J. Mosley, a 2014 Pro Bowler, to allow Mathews to run into the end zone untouched.
After passing test, Sam Bradford hopes to play more vs. Packers - CSN Philly
Sam Bradford is down to one more preseason appearance, and then no more wondering how his knee will hold up, no more trying to get acclimated, no more trying to learn the offense. After playing just a dozen snaps in his first NFL game in 364 days, Bradford said he hopes to play a lot more Saturday night at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, when the Eagles face the Packers in the crucial third preseason game.
Kenjon Barner, Raheem Mostert give life to No. 4 RB battle - The 700 Level
The consensus so far is Barner maintains the edge in this underrated battle, explosive plays in the return game being what sets him apart. To that end, the Oregon product is quick to credit the influence of Sproles, who was just invited to his first Pro Bowl as a return specialist for the Eagles last season.
Eagles' Super Bowl hopes rest with new-look defense - NJ.com
So the only thing standing in the way of a return to the playoffs and a challenge to Seattle and Green Bay for NFC supremacy is the new-look defense.
Teammates Thrilled With Bradford’s Debut - PE.com
"We’ve known that Sam can be effective, and he’s a great quarterback in practice," center Jason Kelce said. "I was excited for him to be out there in his first game back since his ACL injury. He was able to get out there, move the ball and take some hits too. I’ve been injured before, and every time you take that first hit in a game situation, it’s a little bit of a mental breakthrough. I’m sure he felt good being back out there. We were happy for him."
There is not enough Tim Tebow coverage - SB Nation
He's one of the best quarterbacks in college football history, he was a first round pick in 2010, he's carried a team on his back and willed them to postseason victory ... so why in the world is there never any media attention paid to one Timothy Richard Tebow?
