The Philadelphia Eagles waived linebacker Brandon Hepburn off the team's injured reserve list with an injury settlement, according to today's official list of NFL transactions (hat tip to Adam Caplan).

The Eagles placed Hepburn on the team's season-ending injured reserve list earlier this week after he cleared waivers. Hepburn suffered an abdominal injury last week and was waived/injured.

Hepburn spent time on the Eagles' practice squad last season. He mostly played inside linebacker but the Eagles had been working him in with the outside linebackers due to the team's lack of depth at that position. Had Hepburn stayed healthy, he would have had a chance for more playing time due to the recent injury to Marcus Smith.

It's hard to say Hepburn is a big loss for the Eagles, but apparently he was one of the hardest working players on the team. Brandon Graham said he was one of the players who always arrived to the team facility super early.

With Hepburn gone, Travis Long remains the only player on the team's injured reserve list (per the team site). The Eagles are expected to move injured rookie cornerback JaCorey Shepherd to injured reserve once he won't be exposed to waivers.
