Handing out 10 awards from the Eagles-Colts preseason game - PhillyVoice
All throughout training camp, Nelson Agholor got glowing reviews for his speed and slippery running style. On the Eagles' second series, he jumped for a poorly thrown pass from Mark Sanchez, slipped a defender, and took it to the house. So... Now you've gotten a taste of what he is. But he hasn't been without his bad moments too. He will occasionally drop an easy one, which you also saw in the second quarter. Also, it's confirmed that "Snagholor" will be Nelson Agholor's nickname going forward.
Good Start to 2015 Preseason - Iggles Blitz
Bennie Logan – If you had never seen the Eagles play, you would think #96 was the best player on defense. He controlled the middle of the line and made it darn near impossible for the Colts to run the ball. Logan was credited with three tackles, but that doesn’t come close to telling the story of how well he played.
Defensive line dominant as Eagles bury Colts - MCall
Much as it was throughout 2014, the Philadelphia Eagles' defensive line was dominent in Sunday's 36-10 preseason demolition of the Indianapolis Colts. Especially active was nose tackle Bennie Logan, who spent more time on the other side of the line of scrimmage than he did his own. Logan and starting defensive ends Fletcher Cox and Cedric Thornton set the tone for their backups as well, and the Eagles held the Colts to just 281 yards despite the Colts finishing with a 36:14 to 23:46 advantage in time of possession.
Kelly: Not Concerned About Parkey - Birds 24/7
Cody Parkey had a shaky outing Sunday against the Colts. The second-year kicker misfired wide-right on a 34-yard field goal, and also failed to convert on an extra point attempt. Chip Kelly did not sound concerned when addressing the media afterwards. "No, we are not," said Kelly, when asked if he was planning on bringing in competition at kicker. "I mean, he was an All‑Pro Bowl kicker last year. In his first exhibition game, he missed an extra point and a field goal. He’s hit three from 40, too. I wouldn’t push the panic button right now.
Matt Barkley gets job done - no hype necessary - Inquirer
They did not chant his name, or give him a standing ovation, or stay out in the heat for an extra two hours just to say they saw him rumble into the end zone against a defense loaded with hangers-on and roster fodder. They did all those things for the man who followed him. Matt Barkley jogged onto Lincoln Financial Field in relative silence, his entrance into the Eagles' 36-10 preseason victory over the Colts just the opening act for Tim Tebow's return to the NFL, as if Barkley were an acoustic singer-songwriter warming up the crowd for the E Street Band.
More comfortable, Marcus Smith takes 'good step' vs. Colts - CSN Philly
Smith, so disappointing as a rookie last year, had an encouraging preseason debut Sunday afternoon, and although the official stats aren’t overwhelming — one tackle, one pass knockdown — he was in on at least two other tackles, was solid in his pass coverage and got some good pressures on the line of scrimmage. He had no mental breakdowns, and considering where he was last year — often looking lost — this was an enormous improvement
Trent Richardson probably had a perfectly good reason for running away from that hole, jerks - SB Nation
Trent Richardson has not had the NFL career everyone thought he would coming out of college. The first-round pick has spent time on multiple teams, and is now playing for the Oakland Raiders. Friday night, in a preseason game, Richardson performed his patented "run away from the hole the line has opened and into a group of people trying to tackle you" move.
All Systems Go In Preseason Opener - PE.com
All things considered, Sunday’s preseason opener was all-Eagles and all-perfect, relatively speaking. The Eagles throttled Indianapolis 36-10 and emerged from Week 1 of the preseason healthy and filled with momentum after the thorough drubbing ...
