DeMarco Murray active for Eagles vs. Colts game

A number of Philadelphia Eagles players will be sitting out for the team's preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles will be without a number of key players heading into their game against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday afternoon. The following players are officially inactive and will not play:

QB Sam Bradford

ILB DeMeco Ryans

ILB Mychal Kendricks

ILB Kiko Alonso

TE Zach Ertz

S Jerome Couplin

S Earl Wolff

...

It's a little surprising to see that DeMarco Murray is NOT on the inactive list. The Eagles running back has been limited in practice. According to one report, Murray is not expected to play despite being active. We'll see if that's the case.

Other than no Murray, no big surprises from this list. All of these players sat out of training camp practice on Thursday.

Bradford isn't going to play but oddly enough he's out on the field wearing pads. Not really sure what that's all about.

With Bradford out, Mark Sanchez will start at quarterback. Expect Matt Barkley and Tim Tebow to come in after Sanchez is done playing a series or two. Keep in mind the starters will only play about 10 snaps or so.

Emmanuel Acho and Brad Jones are expected to start at inside linebacker. Andrew Gardner will likely get the nod at right guard.
