The Philadelphia Eagles have signed free agent cornerback Marc Anthony (no, not the singer), according to an official release from the team. Anthony is already practicing with the Eagles today. He's wearing Brandon Boykin's old jersey No. 22.

The 25-year-old Anthony measures in at 5-11, 196 pounds. He played college football for the California Golden Bears. Anthony was originally selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the seventh round of the 2013 NFL Draft. The cornerback spent some time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tennessee Titans after being released by the Ravens. He's never played a snap during the NFL regular season.

The Eagles were in need of some more cornerback depth following the season-ending ACL injury to rookie JaCorey Shepherd. During Chip Kelly's press conference prior to Tuesday's practice, Kelly said that the Eagles will not expose Shepherd to the waiver wire. This means the team will wait to put Shepherd on injured reserve until it's safe to do so without losing him.

The signing of Anthony brings the Eagles roster up to the 90-man offseason limit.
