New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul has suffered a severe hand injury in a fireworks accident, according to a report from Andy Slater. NFL Insider Jason Cole has confirmed Slater's report. So has Mike Garafalo of FOX Sports 1. Note that there has been no official word on the extent of Pierre-Paul's injury at this time.
Take it for what it's worth: there are some rumors out there that the injury is very serious.
Here's an interesting picture:

The 26-year-old Pierre-Paul was franchised-tagged by the Giants earlier this offseason. Pierre-Paul has not yet signed his tender.
The former first round pick is obviously a big contributor to the Giants' defense. He racked up 12.5 sacks for New York last year.
The Eagles play the New York Giants twice in 2015: once in Week 6 and then again in Week 17.
UPDATE:
Jason Pierre-Paul expected to meet with doctors, they will have their say, but early indications are, hand injury is not career threatening.
