You know the season is close when NFL POWER RANKINGS are back. Pete Prisco of CBS Sports recently ranked all 32 teams heading into training camp. The Philadelphia Eagles moved up one spot from the last edition of Prisco's rankings. Huge!
Must Reads
"11) This is all about Sam Bradford at quarterback. If he can stay healthy, they have a good chance to push Dallas in the division."
As you can see, the Eagles finished just outside the top 10. Prisco thinks the Eagles will threaten the Cowboys for the NFC East crown. Speaking of the devil, Dallas ranks all the way at No. 4.
"4) Getting Dez Bryant's contract done was a big, important move. Now they have to show they can run it without DeMarco Murray."
The run game was so important to Dallas in 2014. The Cowboys didn't really replace Murray's talent at running back, so it'll be interesting to see how that impacts them.
Elsewhere around the NFC East, the New York Giants and Washington rank in the bottom half of the NFL.
"20) Tom Coughlin has done some of his best coaching when nobody expected his team to do well. Can this be one of those seasons?"
The G-Men have been trending downward in recent seasons. Speaking of downward, Washington ranks as the very worst team in the NFL:
"This is a huge year for Robert Griffin III, and it could be for Jay Gruden as well. Have they done enough to compete? I don't think so."
Washington has had a decent offseason but they're really counting on Griffin to turn around after looking horrible in 2014.
