Earlier this offseason, I bookmarked an old Adam Schefter tweet that looks really weird now. I originally forgot to share it, but I was reminded of it this weekend as some people on Twitter were referencing it once again. It looks like Schefter has since deleted the tweet, adding to the weirdness, so here's a screenshot:
Pretty funny, right? All three players are now on the same team. Step aside, Dallas Cowboys, the Philadelphia Eagles got three first round picks of their own! Even if they are from the 2010 NFL Draft class.
All three players have had pretty strange career paths to this point, especially relative to the expectations when they were drafted. Sam Bradford's injuries have prevented him from becoming a reliable franchise quarterback. Ryan Mathews, who was once supposed to be the heir to Hall of Fame rusher LaDanian Tomlinson, also dealt with injury issues and is now a high quality backup running back. Brandon Graham has gone from being a bust to a backup player miscast in a 3-4 scheme to a stud pass rusher the team is now counting on to be a key part of Philadelphia's defense. It's pretty weird how they all ended up in the same place.
Though only Bradford and Graham are likely to be full-time starters in 2015, all three players could be important contributors to the Eagles this season. It's funny how things work out sometimes.
