Philadelphia Eagles fan base ranked 11th in the NFL

Philadelphia Eagles fans, you might be disappointed to hear you are not the best fans in the NFL. But you might be able to take solace in the fact that you're still above average.

At least that's what a study posted by Emory University suggests. They've gone through the task of ranking every NFL fan base using a method that involves several factors.

"In terms of the nuts and bolts of what we are about to present, we use fifteen years of data on NFL team performance, ticket prices, market populations, median incomes, won-loss records and multiple other factors. We create statistical models of box office revenue, and then see which teams over- and under- perform the model’s predictions.   For a much fuller description, and some limitations about what we are doing click here."

Somehow, the Dallas Cowboys come out as the No. 1 fan base in these rankings. Eagles fans are probably to dismiss the results of this study entirely after seeing that. The Philadelphia faithful rank ton spots lower at 11th overall. Elsewhere in the NFC East, the New York Giants are No. 3 and Washington is No. 15. So the division is quite strong.

I don't know how accurate this study is, but I do know for sure that Eagles fans are some of the most passionate around. Working here, I'm reminded of this passion every single day.
