Eagles News: G.J. Kinne could beat out Tim Tebow and Matt Barkley?

Let's get to the links...

Jason Kelce, for the love of God, don't piss off Steve Weatherford - PhillyVoice
If I may step out of my reporter persona for a second, I'd like to speak directly to Jason Kelce for a moment. Jason, I know you, and I think you're a good guy, and for that reason, allow me to warn you -- DO NOT MESS WITH STEVE WEATHERFORD. Apologize immediately and hope that he doesn't come after you, your family, and everything you hold dear. You don't want this guy on your bad side.

Projecting the Eagles' 53-man roster: Tebow, Kendricks? - CSN Philly
Surprised to see Kinne? Don’t be. We know Matt Barkley has no future here and Tim Tebow isn’t a quarterback. Kinne is a more athletic, more versatile version of Tebow. He can play receiver and running back, giving Chip Kelly an X-factor at No. 3 quarterback and someone who can play the mobile QB role on the scout team, which Kinne has done the last two seasons. Sure, the Eagles would be screwed if Bradford and Sanchez got hurt, but they’d also be screwed if Barkley or Tebow were forced to play quarterback.

Showing Up: Inside Fletcher Cox’s Journey - Birds 24/7
"I think he’s the unsung hero of our defense," said safety Malcolm Jenkins. "When you watch him play snap in and snap out, he’s dominating. It’s that simple, whether it’s a run, whether it’s a pass. He’s taking on two guys and freeing up everybody else. …He’s obviously one of the guys who doesn’t get all the attention because it’s not a glorious job being down in the trenches, but he’s definitely one of the centerpieces of our defense."

Moffitt Officially Signed - Iggles Blitz
Moffitt is not the answer at RG. He’s part of the puzzle. Maybe he turns out to be the right piece. Just don’t think of him as the guy who will definitely win the job. One thing I am curious about is his size. Moffitt was 6-4, 319 in the past. After being out of football and then going through Jay Glazer’s intense workouts, I would imagine he’s closer to 305 pounds, maybe less. If he’s around 300 pounds, that actually helps him in this offense. The Eagles aren’t a team that needs straight-ahead maulers. They run a zone scheme and Chip Kelly likes his OL to be able to move. Getting rid of some excess weight could help Moffitt to better fit this scheme.

Did Eagles get lucky with the signing of Walter Thurmond? - NJ.com
"They came to me after the draft and said I could stay and compete for a spot outside, or move to safety,'' Thurmond said. "I told them I would make the move. It's different for me, because I never really played safety, not in college, never. But (in this scheme) it's not much different than playing in the nickel.''

The Story On Newest Eagle John Moffitt - PE.com
John Moffitt's story is one that involves a whole lot more than playing in the NFL, and how it all comes together -- the many pieces -- will determine how far he goes in his quest to help the Eagles in 2015.
