The Eagles are screwed at OL: Part II - PhillyVoice
This is true. Jason Peters was originally an undrafted free agent of the Buffalo Bills, although the Eagles traded a first-round pick, a fourth-round pick and a sixth-round pick to acquire him. And yes, Jason Kelce was a former sixth-round pick. So yes, good offensive linemen can certainly be had in later rounds. This is true of literally every position in the NFL. Name a position, and I'll give you a really good undrafted free agent who has had success in the NFL.
Why Browns still have skill problem - ESPN
The decision for the Browns at No. 19 overall was clear – select either Florida State center Cam Erving or USC receiver Nelson Agholor, who went No. 20 to Philadelphia.
The UDFAs - Iggles Blitz
I like this kid. Honors student who has already graduated. Started at LT for 3 years in college. Not a natural pass-blocker, but is technically sound with his kick-slide. Has pretty good feet. Able to engage a defender and keep his feet moving. Generates good power when he plays with good pad level. Uses his hands well. Knows his limitations as a pass blocker so tries to quickly get his hands on the rusher to keep him wide of the QB. Smart player. Excellent effort. Blocks to the echo of the whistle. Needs to get stronger. Has the build and blocking style of an Eagles OL. Played LT in the NFLPA all star game and generated some buzz out there. Looked good. Solid showing at his Pro Day. Eagles assistant OL coach Greg Austin was there since Manhart worked at out Nebraska’s Pro Day.
Ten Thoughts On the Eagles Draft - Birds 24/7
I think we have enough proof to suggest Kelly doesn't believe he can plug just anyone in at wide receiver. The team has spent a first-, second- and third-round pick on the position in the past two drafts (as reader John pointed out, they also used a fourth-round pick to move up for Jordan Matthews). And the Eagles tried to bring Jeremy Maclin back. Kelly knows he needs talent at that spot. I also think that the Agholor selection means Riley Cooper could be in trouble. It's entirely possible that the team's best three wide receivers end up being Matthews, Agholor and Josh Huff. That would put Cooper in the No. 4 hole, assuming he's better than Miles Austin.
Top pick Nelson Agholor's mind-set: 'Work like a peasant' - Inquirer
Agholor had spent only a few hours in the team's facility at that point and did not know Robinson. But Kelly knew Agholor is the son of a janitor at the University of South Florida, and it was a quiet tribute to both Robinson and the father who helped shape the character of the Nigerian immigrant who became the Eagles' first-round pick last week. "I think I understand the way life works," Agholor said. "I don't feel like I'm entitled to anything. . . . Work like a peasant. That's the mind-set."
What does Sam Bradford do better than Nick Foles? - The 700 Level
Bradford has been very consistent in this regard. Since PFF started keeping track of release times in 2011, Bradford has finished between 2.67 and 2.70 seconds in each of the three seasons he played. Now, that roughly tenth of a second difference between Bradford and Foles may not seem like much, but it can mean the difference between a sack and a completion, or any number of scenarios in between. Bradford has also demonstrated he can get rid of the football quickly and still make good decisions, while when Foles went faster, he didn’t enjoy nearly the same success as when he was able to sit back in the pocket and scan the field.
Watkins Ready For Any Role In Defense - PE.com
Jaylen Watkins is fresh off the field. Phase 2 of the offseason program has arrived, and with it comes a new challenge for Watkins, a second-year defensive back who could play a key role for the Eagles this season.
Who will be the NFL Rookie of the Year? - SB Nation
The 2015 NFL Draft is over, so naturally, it's time for a really early look at which players have the best shot at winning the Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year awards.
