Eagles News: DeMarco Murray as a two-point specialist?

Philadelphia Eagles news and links for 5/24/2015.

Let's get to the links...

What they're saying: Sam Bradford so injury-prone he wears extra padding to photo shoots - PhillyVoice
Sam Bradford cannot seriously go into the season with his sleeves like that. Also, why is he wearing a flak jacket for a photo shoot? I know he's injury-prone, but that's a little much.

Murray Could Make Two-Point Tries Tempting - PE.com
Over the past five years, teams have scored on 48 percent of two-point conversion tries, but the Eagles' new-look backfield provides some tempting options for Kelly. DeMarco Murray was not only the league's leading rusher overall, but he gained the most yards inside the 20-yard line as well with 148. He was also tied for the league lead with 12 red zone rushing touchdowns. In fact, a whopping 21.4 percent of his red zone carries ended with six points. Murray isn't a one-year wonder in this realm. He had 135 yards rushing inside the red zone and scored nine rushing touchdowns in 2013.

Saturday Notebook - Iggles Blitz
The 2 guys I’m most interested in are Couplin and Prosinski. Couplin has a good combination of size, athleticism and physicality. I’m just not sure he covers well enough for the Eagles and their style of defense. Prosinski came here during the season and made his mark on STs right away. He’s had time to learn the defense. Can he challenge for playing time or is he another guy that lacks the man cover skills? I think the 2 key players are Wolff and Watkins. They feel like the guys with the best chance of winning the starting job.

Finding the Fits: Nelson Agholor will soar with Eagles - CBS Sports
Like Jackson, Agholor possesses remarkable agility and acceleration, making him a threat to score every time he touches the ball. It is a big play potential that frankly, no one else on Philadelphia's receiving corps possesses - including second-year pro Jordan Matthews who finished second to Maclin in receptions (67), receiving yards (872) and touchdowns (eight) a year ago. Agholor's potential as a vertical threat could be especially deadly given how opposing defenses will be forced to pay extra attention to three-headed monster of Demarco Murray, Darren Sproles and Ryan Matthews now at running back in Philadelphia.

Projecting the Eagles' starters on offense - NJ.com
Opposing defenses will be happy about this, as there is little doubt that third-year player Zach Ertz is the most talented tight end on the Eagles' roster. The issues, as it was last season with Ertz, is blocking. Pro Football Focus will tell you that Ertz is one of the best blocking tight ends in the league, but the Eagles' coaching staff clearly fills differently, as Ertz was glued to the bench for portions of the season. Ertz will have to show the coaching staff they can trust him as a blocker before he is starting over Celek.

Eagles' wide receiver competition is one to watch - ESPN
This could be way off-base, but as much as I'm expecting continuity along the first-team line, I could see some real change among the backups. Now it may be that guys like Kevin Graf, Dennis Kelly and Josh Andrews have impressed the coaching staff and are ready to make a push for more playing time. But it is certainly true that the Eagles need to infuse some youth into this group. They signed undrafted free agents Bunche and Coccia for that reason. They could wind up on the practice squad, but my feeling is that coach Chip Kelly is looking to change up the chemistry in the offensive line meeting room.

Quick Slants: Who will be Eagles' most impactful newcomer - CSN Philly
The new faces have made their way to Philly via free agency, the draft and trades. But which newcomer will have the biggest impact on the field in their first year with the Eagles? Wednesday on Quick Slants, Rhea Hughes and Derrick Gunn looked to opposite sides of the ball for their most impactful newcomers. Hughes went with second-round pick (No. 47 overall) defensive back Eric Rowe out of the University of Utah.

Who we'd really like to see on 'Hard Knocks' - SB Nation
The Browns are out, but the Bills, Texans and Dan Snyder's Washington NFL franchise are in the mix for this year's Hard Knocks.
