NFL Draft Results: JaCorey Shepherd to Eagles at No. 191 Pick

The Eagles spent the team's sixth round pick on a cornerback.

John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

The Eagles kicked off Day 3 with trade out of the fourth round with the Detroit Lions. The team acquired a third round pick in 2016.

Now the Eagles are up again. With the No. 191 overall pick, Philadelphia selected Kansas cornerback JaCorey Shepherd with the 191st overall pick.

Shepherd is 5-foot-11 and 199 pounds. A cornerback coming off first team All-Big 12 honors, Shepherd is a converted wide receiver who switched to defensive back as a sophomore. He collected five interceptions in his final two college seasons.

Shepherd fills a need and will compete for playing time at cornerback against Walter Thurmond, Nolan Carroll and Jaylen Watkins.
