The dream is over. After months of speculation and rumors, Mariota won't be reuniting with Eagles head coach Chip Kelly in the NFL.
Philadelphia tried hard to get him. They reportedly offered a HUGE package to the Titans including multiple draft picks, Fletcher Cox, Brandon Boykin, Mychal Kendricks, and more. It's at least a little surprising the Titans didn't accept that considering the lack of depth on their roster.
The Eagles also reportedly tried to trade all the way up to the No. 1 overall pick but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers rejected them as well. The Buccaneers selected Jameis Winston, as expected, with the top pick.
With Mariota out of the picture, it appears Sam Bradford will be the Eagles' starting quarterback in 2015. Philadelphia acquired Bradford in a trade with the St. Louis Rams back in mid-March.
