According to a report from Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the Eagles will be traveling to New York New Jersey in Week 3.
But it won't be to play the New York Giants. Instead, the Eagles will face the New York Jets on Sunday, September 27.
This Eagles-Jets regular season matchup comes only about a month after the two teams will face off in the fourth and final game of the 2015 NFL preseason. That game will also take place in at MetLife Stadium. Unlike the regular season game, however, only the Eagles and Jets backups will be playing in late August.
After going 4-12 in 2014, the Jets fired Rex Ryan and replaced him with former Eagles and Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles. Chip Kelly's offense is 1-1 in two NFL games against Bowles' defense so far. This third meeting will tilt the matchup to one side.
Stay tuned - more updates coming.
