According to a report from Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald, the Philadelphia Eagles will NOT be playing the New England Patriots in the NFL's Week 1 opening kickoff game.

Instead, it will be the NFL team from the other side of Pennyslvania: the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers will be tasked with trying to beat the defending Super Bowl 48 champions.
Rumors from earlier in the offseason indicated the Eagles were the favorites to open the season in New England. Last week, however, Ben Volin of the Boston Globe reported that the Steelers were a more likely choice. It turns out he was right.
This news might come as a disappointment for Eagles fans. 77% of voters said they wanted to see the Eagles play the Patriots in Week 1.
The Eagles 2015 regular season schedule will be officially revealed later tonight at 8 PM EST. All of Philadelphia's 16 opponents for the 2015 season are already known. And so is the 2015 preseason schedule.
