"Giants thought they had him. He was prepared to sign with the 4-3 team. But he changed his mind and Eagles stole him."
Reports of the Giants' interest in Graham first emerged on Sunday night. New York was looking to pair Graham with fellow first round 2010 pick Jason Pierre-Paul. On Monday afternoon, it was then reported that the Graham's decision was coming down to either Philadelphia or New York. By now it's obvious who won that battle.
The Giants and Eagles were also reportedly in on Devin McCourty, but the would-be free agent safety re-signed with the New England Patriots instead. Philadelphia fans can now take delight in their NFC East rival missing out on two of their top free agents in both Graham and McCourty.
Having to face Graham twice a year would have been troublesome for the Eagles. Instead, it's the Giants who will have to deal with that problem.
