2015 NFL Mock Draft: Eagles pair Byron Maxwell with Trae Waynes

It's mock draft season.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The 2015 NFL offseason is really heating up with free agency just one day away. In the meantime, there are also just 52 days until the 2015 NFL Draft begins on April 30, so let's kill some time with our regularly scheduled Mock Draft Monday series. Don't forget to also check out last week's mock draft roundup.

The Eagles have already been busy in free agency with new contracts for cornerback Byron Maxwell and running back Frank Gore. Philadelphia has also lost wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, however.

But despite the Eagles' need for a wide receiver, Dan Kadar still has the Eagles going with a defensive back in the first round. His pick for the Eagles from last week actually hasn't changed at all.

"Trae Waynes, CB, Michigan State - Although the Eagles are expected to sign Byron Maxwell to a big contract, they still need another starting cornerback. How early is too early to take that player? If a player like Waynes is on the board at No. 20, it will test that question. He perfectly fits the mold of what the Eagles want in a cornerback. Philadelphia’s biggest weakness would suddenly be fixed."

...

(Obligatory Marcus Mariota mention: he goes No. 6 to the New York Jets yet again in this week's draft.)
