Let's get to the links...

Eagles Re-Sign Mark Sanchez - Birds 24/7
A source close to Foles expressed no surprise when news of the Sanchez signing came down. The Foles camp was expecting this by the sounds of it, and aren't necessarily viewing it as a sign of Foles' imminent departure. Both sides are expecting a quarterback competition. If Sanchez wins and hangs onto the job, he'll be rewarded. There are play-time and team success incentives that begin to kick in when Sanchez reaches the 50 percent play-time threshold, per a league source. If the team thrives under his stewardship, his money goes up.

Report: Chiefs agree to terms with Jeremy Maclin - PhillyVoice
Losing Maclin opens up a huge hole in the Eagles' offense on a roster that isn't devoid of serious problem areas elsewhere. Despite that, we wrote earlier this week that the Eagles should not overpay for him.

Maxwell, Gore Reportedly Coming to Philly - Iggles Blitz
I like both moves. Some people think the Eagles are nuts for going after Gore. He’s going to turn 32. He’s got a ton of carries in his past and that wear & tear will show up at some point. But Gore hasn’t declined to this point. He runs for more than 1,000 yards just about every year. In the last 5 years, LeSean McCoy has started 72 games. Gore has started 74. He’s got one of those freak bodies that isn’t on the standard timetable. Most RBs hit 30 and the decline is obvious. Gore also has real value as a teammate and locker room presence. I’m sure that isn’t lost on Kelly and is part of the attraction to him. Gore is getting more money than I anticipated at $5M per year. I was hoping he’d be down in the $3 to $4M range. Still, this is half of the cap charge that Shady was going to be prior to his trade.

Mark Sanchez deal suggests Mariota could be horizon - Inquirer
Mark Sanchez is returning to the Eagles on a two-year contract that is worth $9 million and possibly $16 million if he were to hit certain incentives, an NFL source said, confirming various reports. The deal suggests that Sanchez will have every opportunity to earn a starting spot. It also suggests what The Inquirer reported last week -- that Eagles coach Chip Kelly has a plan in place to move up in the draft and select Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota.

Maclin’s size, contract demands make his departure a no-brainer - PFT
Though not as small as DeSean Jackson, Maclin is much closer to the former Eagles receiver who wore No. 10 than a former Eagles receiver who wore No. 17 on the wideout height chart.  Last September, coach Chip Kelly bristled at questions about the officially six-feet-tall Maclin’s lack of stature.

Jones, Parkey Meet Legend Arnold Palmer -
Earlier this week, while Philadelphians were slogging through inches of sleet and snow, punter Donnie Jones and kicker Cody Parkey were taking in a few rounds of golf at Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando, Florida. And, you know, meeting golfing legend Arnold Palmer. Not too shabby for the first week in March.
