UPDATE (8:55 PM ET) - Mark Sanchez has been re-signed to a two-year deal, but Jeremy Maclin is headed to the Kansas City Chiefs.

According to 97.5 Fanatic's Jon Marks and Sean Brace, the Philadelphia Eagles are expected to retain two of their own free agents with new contracts to be announced on Sunday night. Via the @JonandSeanShow Twitter account:

"Hearing from a source close to Eagles, Maclin & Sanchez are coming back. Announcement of new the deals should come at some point tonight."

Let's start with Maclin. Reports earlier in the week indicated that the two sides weren't close to a new deal. On Sunday morning, however, a new report emerged indicating that a return to Philadelphia is "very possible" for Maclin. That same report noted the Eagles wanted to keep him.

As of Saturday evening, Maclin and the Eagles were reportedly split on contract terms. It was reported that Maclin wanted $11 million while the Eagles only wanted to pay $9 million. To be determined what his contract will look like.

When it comes to Sanchez, his potential return isn't unexpected either. A report emerged on Saturday indicating that the Eagles and Sanchez had mutual interest in getting a deal done. The veteran served as Nick Foles' backup in 2014.

Time will tell if this rumor has any merit. Stay tuned.
