"Sources tell @FOXSports1 LeSean McCoy and the Bills are close on a new contract. Expected to be agreed to before trade is official Tues."
The Bills are obviously eager to lock up their new running back after acquiring him in a shocking trade with the Eagles earlier this week. Buffalo sent young stud linebacker Kiko Alonso to Philadelphia in the rare player-for-player deal.
It's a little interesting to see McCoy willing to re-sign in Buffalo only days after reports of him not being happy about being traded to the Bills. Then again, money talks. News of this new contract should end any speculation about McCoy trying to block his trade.
McCoy was scheduled to carry a ~$12M cap number in 2015 had the Eagles kept him. By trading him instead, Philadelphia saves over $8.5M.
There aren't any details on what McCoy's new contract with the Bills will look like yet. It probably won't be too long before those get leaked. It'll be interesting to see what Buffalo is ready to pay the 26-year-old rusher.
