2015 NFL Mock Draft: Todd McShay 4.0

Check out our (2015 Eagles mock draft central) for more opinions on who could be the #20 pick in April.

Marvin Gentry-USA TODAY Sports

ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay released a new 2015 NFL mock draft on Thursday. This is Version 4.0 of McShay's mocks. Here's a look at Version 1.0, where he had the Eagles taking a cornerback, Version 2.0, where he had the Eagles taking a safety, and Version 3.0, where he had the Eagles taking a safety again. This time around McShay has the Eagles taking a safety again... again. And it's actually just the same player as the last two times, which isn't very exciting at all. Via ESPN In$ider:

"Landon Collins | COLLEGE: Alabama | Class: Jr | HT: 6-0 | WT: 228 | POS: S

Analysis: The Eagles have been very active in free agency and via trades so far this offseason, adding QB Sam Bradford, RB DeMarco Murray, LB Kiko Alonso and CBs Byron Maxwell and Walter Thurmond, among others. Receiver and outside linebacker are need areas, but I'll have them address the safety position with Collins, who is an athletic strong safety prospect built like a weakside linebacker who can hold up in coverage and be a force for Philly in run support."

It's clear McShay is projecting this as a "need" pick. The Eagles don't have a safety and they need one. They missed out on Devin McCourty and free agency and now they have no real natural starter to replace Nate Allen, who signed with the Oakland Raiders.

A few otable players drafted after the Eagles pick at No. 20 include: DE Arik Armstead (22), Bud Dupree (24), T.J. Clemmings (25), and Jaelen Strong (26).

We've talked about Collins so many times before that I'm running out of new things to say. Some don't think Collins is a scheme fit for Philadelphia. Here's his spider graph.

In Marcus Mariota news, McShay has the Oregon quarterback going No. 2 overall to the Tennessee Titans.
