When the report of the Philadelphia Eagles trading LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for Kiko Alonso emerged on Tuesday night, the Twitterverse blew up. And rightfully so because this deal was an absolute shocker.
Here's how people are reacting to the trade. It seems to me that there are a lot of positive reactions to the deal in favor of the Eagles. Also: a lot of shock and mixed feelings.
I'm speechless right now.

Chip Kelly on Alonso last year: "I take extra pride in that I got the opportunity to coach Kiko. Extremely dedicated, driven person."

Ok, this has become a FIRE SALE!!!!!! #SpringCleaningChipStyle #FlyEaglesFly

Kiko Alonso attended Oregon and was born in New England. "That’s the Chip Kelly exacta," @brookob just said.

Also Bills got royally screwed in that trade.

Shady was a great Eagle. He was also a RB with a ton of touches who looked like he was standing on the cliff's edge.
— Noah Becker (@Noah_Becker) March 3, 2015
No, this is not a risky move. Look up running back age curves. Kiko could get run over by a bus tomorrow & the net AV wouldn't be that bad.

The Eagles just traded an expensive running back for a young stud linebacker, and opened up 12 mil in cap space. Hell yes.

Wonder if Eagles and Bills discussed a potential McCoy trade last offseason before the Bryce Brown deal...
— Dan Klausner (@dklausner) March 3, 2015
I’m not gonna retweet myself, but remember what I said earlier RE people dealing w/Eagles thinking team wants to wipe slate from Andy/Howie
— Les Bowen (@LesBowen) March 3, 2015
Chip just does not care what anybody says or thinks. Trading Shady for an Oregon linebacker coming off knee surgery...
— Les Bowen (@LesBowen) March 3, 2015
Trades cannot officially happen until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, which is the start of the league year. Will be a busy day.

LeSean McCoy averaged 2.09 yards after contact in 2014, which was a career low: http://t.co/Hm7igCSbX5

Can't decide if it's more or less likely for #Eagles to trade up for MM. More: trade makes more sense in mini-rebuild. Less: no pick back.
— Ryan Messick (@Ryan_Messick) March 3, 2015
Initial thought: Eagles got the far better end of this trade. 2nd straight trade with Buffalo in which the Bills made a dumb deal for a RB.
— Jimmy Kempski (@JimmyKempski) March 3, 2015
I’ve been through surreal before. This might be the surrealest.
— Les Bowen (@LesBowen) March 3, 2015
#Eagles will save $24 million on the salary cap with these 3 monster moves. That puts them about $50 million under with FA starting Tuesday.
— Ed Kracz (@kracze) March 3, 2015
I know emotionally this is tough for everyone, but it's better to get rid of an asset a year early than a year late. That's Shady.
— Dan Klausner (@dklausner) March 3, 2015
Have heard a lot about the Eagles being major players in free agency and perhaps via Mariota trade. Opening up more and more cap space
— Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) March 4, 2015
In 2013, Eagles offense set franchise records for yds. & pts. Since, Chip's gotten rid of DeSean and LeSean and received one ILB in return.

Chip Kelly is doing what he wants, that's what happens when you're the GM/HC. This is going to be a team made in his image.
