Tim Tebow, Eagles not expected to agree on contract

So much for that... for now.

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, Tim Tebow has left his workout in Philadelphia without signing a contract. Schefter says that the Eagles do not plan to sign him at this time.

"Tim Tebow has come and gone from Philadelphia. Team is not planning to sign him at this time. We'll see if anything changes."

News of the Eagles working out the former first round pick emerged earlier on Monday afternoon. As you can imagine, this news caused quite a stir around the NFL. Most people just accused Chip Kelly of trolling.

With Tebow likely out of the picture, the Eagles have just four quarterbacks under contract on the active roster: Sam Bradford, Mark Sanchez, Matt Barkley, and G.J. Kinne. Bradford and Sanchez seem like locks to make the 2015 roster unless Bradford is used as a trade chip. Barkley and Kinne will compete for a third quarterback spot. The Eagles also might opt to take a quarterback in the 2015 NFL Draft.

So, crisis averted. No Tebow... for now.
