2015 NFL Mock Draft: Eagles take Jaelen Strong at No. 20

Check out our (2015 Eagles mock draft central)for more opinions on who could be the #20 pick in April.

The first wave of free agency is over. The landscape of the NFL has seem some significant changes with teams not afraid to hand out big contracts in the attempt to improve their rosters. There are also just 45 days until the 2015 NFL Draft begins on April 30, so let's kill some time with our regularly scheduled Mock Draft Monday series. Don't forget to also check out last week's mock draft roundup.

SB Nation's Dan Kadar has usually had the Eagles taking a defensive back up to this point. The Eagles still need a safety but they've already addressed their cornerback positions. This week, Kadar has the Eagles going with offense.

"After losing Jeremy Maclin to the Chiefs, the top wide receiver in Philadelphia is second-year player Jordan Matthews. He’s solid, but the Eagles need to add talent at the position. Strong is a big, physical receiver who can get vertical and make plays in the red zone. He works over the middle nicely and is hard to bring down after the catch."

Strong was born and raised in Philadelphia so the Eagles drafting him would make for a nice home-coming. The 6-2, 217 pound receiver finished his college career with 157 receptions for 2,287 yards (14.6 average) and 17 touchdowns.

The Eagles are definitely in need of a new receiver with only Riley Cooper, Jordan Matthews, and Josh Huff returning from the 2014 active roster. Chip Kelly seems to favor bigger wide receivers and Strong fits the bill.

(Obligatory Marcus Mariota mention: he falls to No. 6 to the New York Jets yet again this week.)
