Nate Allen may be heading to the opposite coast to continue his NFL career. Allen is set to visit the Raiders on Wednesday, according to former Eagles scout John Middlekauff.
Allen has spent the last five years as an Eagles starting safety. A former second round pick, Allen has had quite a few peaks and valleys in Philadelphia. From an impressive start to his rookie season to an injury that derailed the better part of two seasons to a career resurgence, Allen has pretty much been through it all.
The South Florida alum is coming off a mediocre season but had four interceptions, which was a new career high. If Allen were to sign with the Raiders, he would likely start opposite Charles Woodson at safety. Allen has started 69 games in his career.
The Eagles currently have Malcolm Jenkins, Chris Maragos, Earl Wolff, Ed Reynolds, Jerome Couplin and Chris Prosinski on the roster at safety.
