Frank Gore, Colts expected to sign three-year deal

Ryan Grigson wants all the veterans!

Ed Szczepanski-USA TODAY Sports

Frank Gore is headed to Indianapolis. The former 49ers running back has voided his verbal agreement with Philadelphia to sign a similar three-year deal with the Coltsaccording to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Eagles offered Gore a three-year, $12 million deal with $7 million in guaranteed money.

Gore will now take over as a starter for the Colts at running back, a role he would have likely had in Philadelphia. He reportedly felt more comfortable with the Colts from a coaching and talent perspective, which led him to leave the deal with the Eagles. He will now work with Andrew Luck, T.Y. Hilton and Coby Fleener as oppose to Nick Foles or Mark Sanchez, Jordan Matthews and Zach Ertz. He may also be joined by his college teammate Andre Johnson.

The Eagles are now left to sort out what's next at the running back position. Justin Forsett, Roy Helu and C.J. Spiller are still on the market.
