Allen, 27, is a native of Fort Myers, Florida. He attended high school in the area before playing college football at the University of South Florida in Tampa.
The Eagles drafted Allen in 2010 with the No. 37 overall pick, which is a selection the team acquired by trading former franchise quarterback Donovan McNabb away to the Washington Redskins. Allen has started 69 games in 74 total appearances for Philadelphia. He's recorded four sacks, 10 interceptions, 31 passes defensed, and 258 tackles in that span.
Allen is scheduled to be a free agent this offseason after the Eagles only re-signed to a one-year contract in 2014. It's not expected that the Eagles will be rushing to re-sign him.
The Eagles have ranked near the bottom of league in arrests since 2000.
