LeSean McCoy was an Eagles fan-favorite for years. Now the franchise's all-time leading rusher is set to return to Philadelphia this Sunday wearing a different team's uniform. The Eagles are set to host the Buffalo Bills this weekend and it'll be interesting to see how McCoy is received upon his return.
McCoy gave Eagles fans plenty of moments to cheer for during his time here. He was a very productive player, with his best season coming in 2013 when he finished as the NFL's rushing champion. He could also be a fun personality. Eagles fans won't forget the time he called then-Giants pass rusher Osi Umenyiora "overrated n soft." Shady's shifty running style made for amazing highlights, such as this one:
At the same time, McCoy didn't have a clean reputation off the field. He allegedly threw a woman off a party bus on the New Jersey Turnpike. He also got into an ugly public Twitter spat with his son's mother where he said some pretty nasty things. And then there was that creepy "females only" party that got cancelled ...
The aftermath of McCoy's departure from Philadelphia was awkward at times. He never took shots at the fans, but he seemed bitter about how the team moved on from him. McCoy essentially accused Chip Kelly of being racist at one point.
Despite his flaws, I expect McCoy to be mostly cheered on Sunday. He was obviously a very popular player and it's not like he left on his own will.
So, what are you expecting for Sunday? Boos? Cheers? Mixed reaction?
