Eagles Injury Report: Byron Maxwell doesn't expect to play

Here's a Thursday update on the team's Week 17 injury situation.

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles released their second official injury report in advance of their Week 17 game against the New York Giants. It's a meaningless game, so I don't know why you're reading this, but here you are.

Three players missed practice yet again: starting cornerback Byron Maxwell, starting nose tackle Bennie Logan, and special teams ace Seyi Ajirotutu. It seems safe to safe none of them will play this week. Maxwell told reporters he doesn't expect to play. It's odd that the Eagles haven't placed any of these players on injured reserve in order to free up roster spots.

Elsewhere, Jaylen Watkins was a limited in practice after being a full participant on Wednesday. The second-year cornerback missed practice entirely on Tuesday.

The Eagles need to lose this week, so missing some of their key players isn't such a bad thing.
