Philadelphia Eagles will reportedly make some roster moves this week

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to place starting cornerback Byron Maxwell and starting nose tackle Bennie Logan on the season-ending injured reserve list this week, according to a report from Howard Eskin.

The Eagles were officially eliminated from the 2016 NFL playoff picture with a loss to Washington on Saturday evening, but the Birds still have one meaningless game left against the New York Giants. Instead of wasting roster spots on two players who are hurt, the Eagles will look to bring in some new faces.

It remains to be seen who the Eagles will sign. The team could look to promote some talent from their own practice squad. They could also look to steal some players from other team's practice squads, similar to how the Colts just signed Stephen Morris away from Philadelphia last week.

Stay tuned for an official announcement at some point this week.
