Colts sign Stephen Morris away from Eagles practice squad

Stephen Morris is no longer a member of the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad. The Indianapolis Colts have signed the 23-year-old quarterback to their active roster, according to an official announcement from the team.

Up to this point, Morris spent the whole season with Philadelphia after the Eagles claimed him off waivers after final cuts in August. The Eagles originally kept Morris on their 53-man roster before waiving him and keeping him on the practice squad.

The loss of Morris is hardly major, but it has to be a little annoying for the Eagles. He was a guy they seemed keen on developing to some extent. One could imagine they would have at least liked to work with him this upcoming offseason. Instead, he's now with the Colts. Indianapolis needs quarterback depth due to injuries to Andrew Luck and Matt Hasselbeck.

The Eagles now have a vacant practice squad spot with Morris gone. Here's an updated look:
