Eagles' Ed Reynolds nominated for Clutch Performer of the Week

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Philadelphia Eagles safety Ed Reynolds has been named as one of five nominees for the Castrol Edge Clutch Performer of the Week award. Click here to go vote for him.

Reynolds stepped up big late in the fourth quarter of the Eagles-Bills game by picking off Tyrod Taylor to seal a win for Philadelphia. Watch the clutch play again here:

The interception wasn't the only big play Reynolds made. He also had a key open field solo tackle on Taylor after the quarterback tried to scramble for a first down.

Reynolds has largely been an afterthought after being selected by the Eagles in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He spent his entire rookie season and the first ten weeks of this year's schedule on the practice squad. Philadelphia called him up prior to Week 11 and he's since taken over as the team's nickel and dime safety when Malcolm Jenkins shifts down to play the slot.

Reynolds can continue to earn more playing time and justify his roster spot by making big plays like this one.
