The Philadelphia Eagles released their first official injury report in advance of their Week 9 game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Two key Eagles players did not practice: starting left tackle Jason Peters and veteran inside linebacker DeMeco Ryans. Peters is still recovering from back spasms that caused him to leave the team's Week 7 game early. Ryans is dealing with a hamstring injury.
If Peters can't play, it will be either Lane Johnson or Matt Tobin starting at left tackle. With Tobin moving out to either left or right tackle, Dennis Kelly would be forced to step up at right guard.
Ryans told reporters he's not sure if he'll play on Sunday. The Eagles shouldn't be devastated if "Mufasa" can't play, though. Kiko Alonso is likely returning to game action this week so the Eagles will have him, Mychal Kendricks, and Jordan Hicks available as starting quality players at inside linebacker.
Rookie wide receiver Nelson Agholor was a full participant, which is a good sign for his playing chances.
On a different note, offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur spoke before Wednesday's practice and said Eagles running back DeMarco Murray is healthier than he was earlier in the season. Murray hasn't been listed on the injury report recently, but he was dealing with a hamstring injury earlier this season.
Speaking of running backs, Ryan Mathews was listed as a limited participant in practice. On Tuesday, Mathews told reporters he will play this week.
Special teams demon Bryan Braman was also a limited participant in practice due to a back issue.
Backup defensive end Brandon Bair returned to practice as a full participant in practice for the first time since suffering an injury in Week 4.
