The Dallas Cowboys released former starting running back Joseph Randle on Tuesday, as first reported by Clarence Hill of the Star-Telegram.
**breaking news*** The Joseph Randle saga is over in Dallas. He has been released by the Cowboys per sources
— Clarence Hill (@clarencehilljr) November 3, 2015
Randle fell out of favor in Dallas after being benched and excused from the team last week. Randle is potentially facing personal-conduct punishment due to an offseason arrest.
There was a lot of hype surrounding Randle leading into this season. Many were confident the Cowboys' rushing attack would be just fine with him replacing DeMarco Murray as the team's starter. Randle himself accused his former teammate of "leaving meat on the bone" despite the fact Murray led the NFL in rushing last season.
Murray responded to Randle's comments by saying: "Hopefully [Randle] can taste some of that meat this year."
Now that he's been released by the Cowboys, it turns out Randle won't get to taste much more meat after all.
