Eagles promote practice squad player to main roster, release Emmanuel Acho

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles made a few roster moves on Tuesday evening. The Eagles released fan-favorite inside linebacker Emmanuel Acho and filled his roster spot by promoting Jonathan Krause from the practice squad.

The Eagles only brought Acho back earlier this month on Nov. 9, but the team is deep at inside linebacker now that Mychal Kendricks, Kiko Alonso, and DeMeco Ryans are all back.

The 23-year-old Krause joined Philadelphia's practice squad in late September. His promotion is a curious move. The Eagles already have six receivers on the main roster. The Eagles haven't gotten a lot of production out of their receivers this season, so perhaps they're looking to make change by getting Krause involved.

Krause is the second player the Eagles have promoted from their practice squad to their main roster recently. The team signed safety Ed Reynolds to the main roster after putting Jerome Couplin on injured reserve. The Eagles now have two open spots on their practice squad.
