Let's get to the Philadelphia Eagles links ...
Eagles' effort comes into question - Inquirer
"Well, when you see DeMarco sliding before getting hit, you tell me. Was that giving full effort?" said an Eagles player who spoke on the condition of anonymity. "You see that [stuff], and it makes you wonder." Where there is one, there are surely others. Other Eagles who bust it every practice and every game who can't help but be bothered when a teammate so easily gives himself up and other Eagles who, for whatever the reason, have started to check out.
Handing out 10 awards from the Eagles-Buccaneers game - PhillyVoice
Perhaps it's time for Eagles fans to start watching the standings. And no, I don't mean the division leading Giants. I mean the teams with worse records around the league who the Eagles could leap in the draft order between now and the end of the regular season. It's pretty clear that they're not going anywhere until they have a franchise quarterback, and it's equally clear that the only way they're getting one is through the draft.
Calmer Thoughts - Iggles Blitz
Have we lost perspective? The Eagles got their butts kicked today. They got blown out last year. It also happened in 2013. And 2012. And 2011. And so on. This one is especially painful because the Eagles lost to a rookie and it happened in a game that the team absolutely needed to win. Trust me, I was screaming at the TV today with a level of anger I’ve not had in a while. Still, bad games happen. This is part of life in the NFL.
Should Eagles fire Chip Kelly? Whether you want them to or not, it isn't happening anytime soon - NJ.com
While there might be some very early signs that Kelly won't be able to succeed in the NFL, the reality is that Kelly is still many, many more ugly games like Sunday from losing his job. Here is why. When owner Jeffrey Lurie gave Kelly the keys to the Eagles this past offseason, jettisoning Howie Roseman and making Kelly the czar of personnel, he didn't do so on a whim. Both Lurie and Kelly knew that making the kind of changes they did to the franchise, shuffling around control, wasn't a one-year deal.
Mark Sanchez Explains Argument With Sproles - Birds 24/7
Late in the fourth quarter, Mark Sanchez attempted a bubble screen pass to Darren Sproles, similar to the play that Sproles had turned into a 35-yard touchdown earlier in the game. Instead of an Eagles touchdown, however, this time Sanchez’s pass resulted in a Tampa Bay touchdown when Lavonte David intercepted the pass and returned it for six points. After the play, Sanchez and Sproles were spotted arguing as they walked off the field, presumedly about which of the two had made a mistake on the play. Sanchez explained what happened in his post-game press conference.
Connor Barwin: Eagles fans 'deserve to see better football' - CSN Philly
If the Eagles play anything like they did Sunday, fans won't have an appetite by the time dinner is served. "I apologize [for] the kind of football we played today," Barwin said. "I think they deserved better, and we've got to play better on Thursday, because these fans deserve to see better football."
Defense Falls Apart In Lopsided Defeat - PE.com
It seemed, only two weeks ago, that the Eagles were trending in the right direction after a win over the Dallas Cowboys, an overtime thriller that showed the heart and fight of a team very much in the mix in the NFC East. Two home games, and two losses, later, the Eagles are in much different position. Sunday’s 45-17 loss to Tampa Bay was a lowlight of the season. Philadelphia’s defense, which kept the team in games earlier in the year while the offense tried to find some rhythm and production, became completely unhinged against the Bucs and rookie quarterback Jameis Winston. Tampa Bay rolled up 335 total net yards in the first half and then dominated the line of scrimmage in the second half with drives of 80 yards – on 13 plays that consumed an astounding 9:47 off the clock and ended with a touchdown, and then an 11-play, 70-yard drive field goal drive - to go ahead 38-14 as Lincoln Financial Field emptied with 12:03 to go in the fourth quarter.
Sam Bradford's even getting roasted at the Philadelphia marathon - SBNation.com
It's one thing to be having a rough season, but entirely another to be mocked as motivation.
