I was really tempted to end the post there. I don't have much else to say right now. (As I say before going on to write a lot more.) The Eagles are just a bad and boring football team.
The whole offense continues to be dreadful. The quarterbacks are bad. Mark Sanchez threw three interceptions in this loss after a promising drive early on. The offensive line isn't good. The run game isn't good. The wide receivers are awful. The tight ends aren't really doing much.
The only surprising thing about this game was that the defense struggled so much. They've been pretty solid for most of the season. Football Outsiders actually had them ranked as the No. 2 defense in the NFL coming into this game. But for some reason they got killed by Jameis Winston and Doug Martin.
Chip Kelly obviously deserves the blame for this mess. He's the general manager and the head coach, and he hasn't been great at either job ever since he got player personnel control early in 2015. I don't think the Eagles are going to fire him any time soon. I do think he gets a chance to fix this mess in the offseason and try to turn things around next season. I'm not sure he'll be able to, but I think he'll at least get the chance.
As for the rest of this season, it really can't be over soon enough. There are potentially six more games of this crap. If the Eagles continue to play like they have, it's going to be a huge waste of time.
And that's really a good way to sum up this Eagles season: a huge waste of time.
