The Philadelphia Eagles released their first official injury report in advance of their Week 10 game against the Miami Dolphins.
Veterans DeMeco Ryans and Jason Peters returned to practice on Wednesday as limited participants. Ryans has been out of action since Week 6 while Peters hasn't played since Week 7.
Ryans told reporters he's "very optimistic" that he will play this Sunday. That's good news for the Eagles because they'll need to fill the void left by rookie Jordan Hicks.
Peters was less optimistic than Ryans. The team's starting left tackle told reporters there's a "50-50 chance" he plays this week. Peters has a pinched nerve in his back that is causing him to feel pain in his quad. If Peters can't play, the Eagles will rely on Lane Johnson as the starter at left tackle with Dennis Kelly starting on the right side of the offensive line.
Another big item from Wednesday's practice involves Malcolm Jenkins. The team's starting safety did not practice because he's still going through the NFL's concussion protocol. Chip Kelly told reporters he expects Jenkins to be back at practice on Thursday. The Eagles can't really afford to have Jenkins miss time. Not only is he a good player but the depth behind him is highly suspect. If Jenkins can't play, Chris Maragos would likely have to start.
Along with Jenkins, backup safety and special teams contributor Jerome Couplin did not practice.
Nelson Agholor was a full participant in practice. The rookie wide receiver could be on pace to return to game action this week. Elsewhere, starting pass catcher Riley Cooper was limited.
DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews are both listed on the injury report with groin injuries. Both running backs were full participants, however.
Backup guard Josh Andrews was a limited participant.
