The Philadelphia Eagles released their first official injury report in advance of their Week 5 game against the New Orleans Saints.
A total of five Eagles players did not practice: starting left tackle Jason Peters, starting cornerback Byron Maxwell, starting linebacker Mychal Kendricks, starting linebacker Kiko Alonso, and backup defensive end Brandon Bair. In addition to these players, starting right tackle Lane Johnson was limited.
Despite being hurt, Johnson said he "definitely" will play on Sunday. If Peters can't play, Johnson could start in his place at left tackle. With Johnson potentially at left tackle, look for Matt Tobin and Dennis Kelly to start at right guard and right tackle.
Maxwell said he still plans to play this weekend.
At linebacker, Alonso and Kendricks are not expected to play this week. Alonso is recovering from a knee injury while Kendricks is still battling a hamstring issue. Jordan Hicks and DeMeco Ryans will start on the inside.
Reports indicate Bair could be out for two weeks. The good news for the Eagles is that starting defensive end Cedric Thornton and top backup Taylor Hart were full participants in Wednesday's practice.
Starting right guard Allen Barbre sat out of Tuesday's practice with a groin issue but returned to practice on Wednesday.
