The Philadelphia Eagles announced their game-day inactive list in advance of their 2015 NFL Week 4 match versus the Washington Redskins.
The big news is that DeMarco Murray is officially active and will play. But how many snaps will he take? According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, it's possible Ryan Mathews could start for Philadelphia. Mathews played well last week during Murray's absence. It will be interesting to see how the carries are split up.
After being ruled questionable on the injury report, starting left tackle Jason Peters is active and will play. The same goes for inside linebacker Mychal Kendricks. Kendricks missed last week's game due to a hamstring issue.
Kiko Alonso, Cedric Thornton, and Taylor Hart were the three Eagles players ruled out on the team's final injury report. With Alonso out, rookie Jordan Hicks will continue to get playing time. Brandon Bair will start at defensive end in place of Thornton. Vinny Curry will also spend more time at defensive end while coming off the bench.
Nickel safety and special teams ace Chris Maragos is inactive after being listed questionable on the final injury report. Maragos is an unheralded contributor so this could be a sneaky loss.
Second-year wide receiver Josh Huff is active after missing last week's game.
2014 first round pick Marcus Smith is a healthy scratch yet again. The team apparently doesn't trust him on special teams (or defense).
Philadelphia lineup changes include Matt Tobin starting at right guard and Caleb Sturgis as the team's new kicker. Tobin replaces Andrew Gardner, who suffered a season-ending foot injury last week. Sturgis replaces Cody Parkey, who was placed on injured reserve after tearing three muscles in his groin.
