Happy Halloween! Let's get to the Philadelphia Eagles links ...

Sorting Out the Philadelphia Eagles' Running Back Situation - numberFire
Murray has averaged a paltry 3.5 yards per carry this year on his 88 carries while Mathews has turned his 56 carries into 6.1 yards per carry. According to our Net Expected Points (NEP) metrics, which compare a player's performance to expectation-level in terms of helping his team score, Murray has a terrible -4.48 Rushing NEP, ranking him 30th among 42 backs with at least 50 carries. On the other hand, Mathews ranks 14th with a 3.51 Rushing NEP. While Mathews clearly looks better as an overall rusher, he also has done so in a much more efficient manner than Murray.

Keeping Eagles' defense intact will require thinking cap - Daily News
But in today's NFL, building a good offense and/or defense is only half the battle. Almost as challenging, thanks to free agency and the salary cap, is keeping it together. Four key players from Bill Davis' defense - cornerback Nolan Carroll, safety Walter Thurmond, defensive end Cedric Thornton and pass-rush specialist Vinny Curry - can become unrestricted free agents after the season. Five more - defensive end Fletcher Cox, nose tackle Bennie Logan, inside linebackers Kiko Alonso and DeMeco Ryans and safety Chris Maragos - will be free agents after next season. But given how fast Cox and Logan's value is soaring, the Eagles really need to get new deals done with those two sooner rather than later.

Sam Bradford has a 'high' chance of being with a different team in 2016  - PhillyVoice
When Bradford was traded to the Eagles, the Eagles' offense was a desirable landing spot. The perception was that it had a high-powered offense with a variety of receiving threats, a good offensive line, and a strong run game. Nope. So even if the Eagles had some kind of interest in bringing Bradford back, there's a really good chance Bradford would view some other team as a better situation. And I'll bet some team would probably sign him to be their starter based on the useless notion that he was a great prospect coming out of college and a former No. 1 overall pick. Because a lot teams are dumb.

Eagles Wake-Up Call: The Pass Rush - Birds 24/7
Bill Davis just wanted people to relax. Through the first four games of the season, his defense recorded just one sack each week. Criticism of the Eagles’ pass rush picked up, and those questions reached him in his press conference after the Washington game. “There is more pressure than there are sacks,” he said a few weeks ago. “So I don’t think it’s a pressure problem. The sack numbers aren’t where you like them. But we’ve got to get the pressure on the quarterback and get him down and affect the throws. That has to increase. But we actually aren’t horrible right there.” In the two games after that, the Eagles sacked Drew Brees and Eli Manning a combined eight times. Against Carolina, the front seven brought Cam Newton down just once, but they disrupted several passes.

Jordan Hicks, Connor Barwin among Eagles' biggest surprises and disappointments so far this season - NJ.com
Barwin is the vocal leader of the defense, but this season, he has been a complete disappointment. After totaling 14.5 sacks last season, Barwin has just two so far this season, and is on pace for only 4.5. Barwin does have 14 quarterback hurries in seven games, but he has not been the playmaker the Eagles need him to be.

Once Bye Is Over, The Eagles Have ... - PE.com
We've got plenty of season to play following this bye weekend, and that means plenty of chances for the Eagles to gain some momentum and win the NFC East. It's right there in front of them ...

Eagles Mailbag: Adjustments, Ryan Mathews, tight ends - CSN Philly
Nope. I don't think so. That's just going off of what Kelly and the team has done to this point. I absolutely think Murray's contract plays a role in his carries even though the team will never admit it. The other possibility is Kelly believes this is the way to utilize Ryan Mathews without getting him hurt. Mathews is a guy who has had injury trouble throughout his career as a bell cow back. So the thinking here might be: we can have him for 10 carries per game for the whole season or use him out early.
