The Philadelphia Eagles haven't lost to the New York Giants on Monday Night Football since 1972.

In five meetings since 1980, the Eagles are a perfect 5-0 against their NFC East rivals from New Jersey. In other words, the Eagles historically own New York on Monday night.

The Eagles' success over the Giants isn't limited to that Monday night streak. The Birds have dominated the G-Men in recent history as well. Since 2008, the Eagles are 11-4 versus the Giants. Even more recently (and more relevantly), the Eagles have fared very well against New York during the Chip Kelly era. Kelly's Eagles are 3-1 against Tom Coughlin's Giants. Philadelphia has managed to outscore their rivals 104-62 in those games.

Of course, none of this history really means anything if the Eagles don't show up tonight. For what it's worth, the Eagles are certainly favored to win this big game. Philadelphia enters this contest as five point home favorites, which is two points more than the standard. There are indications that the smart money is on the Eagles to win this game.

History and the odds are on the Eagles' side. Now it's up to them to do their part.
