Eagles starting quarterback Sam Bradford has been nominated as one of three candidates for the FedEx Air Player of the Week. Bradford earned this nomination for his performance in Philadelphia's Week 5 win over the New Orleans Saints. Bradford finished with 333 yards on 45 attempts (7.4 average), two touchdowns, two interceptions, and an 88.5 passer rating.
The two players Bradford is competing against include New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning and Cleveland Browns quarterback Josh McCown. (What a group this is, huh?)
Manning finished Week 5 with 441 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception for a 110.2 passer rating. McCown, who actually lead the NFL in passing over the last three weeks, completed 36 of 51 passes (70.6 percent) for 457 yards and two touchdowns for a 111.3 passer rating.
As you can see, it's hard to argue Bradford outplayed those two quarterbacks. But the fact that Bradford is even drawing consideration could be seen as a minor positive sign considering how he's struggled this season.
