Longtime ESPN personality Stuart Scott is dead at the age 49 following a long battle with cancer, the network announced on Sunday morning. Stuart had been battling cancer since being originally diagnosed in 2007. The disease was in remission in 2012 but he was diagnosed with cancer again in 2013.
Scott gave a powerful speech about his battle with cancer at the 2013 ESPY awards. Definitely give it a watch:
"You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and the manner in which you live. So live! Fight like hell!"
This sucks. Most, if not all of us, know someone close to us who has been impacted by this disease and it's really sad to see it claim another life.
Scott's passing has drawn reaction from the entire sports community. A few Eagles players expressed their sympathy on Twitter.
Praying for the family of Stuart Scott, specifically his 2 daughters. @espn and @SportsCenter will never be the same! Cherish those u love.
