How Lombardi almost became Eagles coach - Inquirer
As Philadelphia's scarred football fans will again be reminded on Sunday, the Eagles have won none of the XLIX Super Bowls. But had things worked out differently 57 years ago, they might not only possess a Lombardi Trophy or two by now, they might have had Vince Lombardi himself.

IgglesPod, Episode 4: Ed Marynowitz, Nick Foles, and Eagles draft targets - PhillyVoice
In a new glorious podcast episode, Episode 4, which we recorded Thursday night, Tommy Lawlor of IgglesBlitz.com and I discuss the following Eagles topics: The Eagles' hiring of Ed Marynowitz to be Chip Kelly's right hand man. Do the Nick Foles trade rumors make sense? Players at the Senior Bowl who make sense for the Eagles. Our Super Bowl picks.

We’re Happy For You, But… - Iggles Blitz
The task at hand for Ed Marynowitz and Chip Kelly is to take the Eagles from being a good team to being a great team. All they have to do is solve the QB situation, fix the secondary and find another playmaker or two. Sounds easy, right? Heck, Jeff Lurie could have hired me for something that simple.

Three Eagles Numbers That Matter - Birds 24/7
There's been a lot of talk since the season ended about how the offense is fine. Some cite points per game - 29.6, third-best in the league. But that number is misleading. According to Football Outsiders' DVOA, the Eagles' offense ranked 13th. The unit had 36 giveaways, tops in the league, and averaged 4.56 points per red zone trip (20th). In other words, this was a mediocre unit. It would be a mistake to assume the offense will be fine in 2015. The offensive line should be healthier, but it's an aging unit. The QB play should be better, but the most important position on the team is a question mark. One of Kelly's priorities this offseason has to be examining his scheme and making tweaks - particularly in the run game, which is the foundation of the offense.

10 years later, recalling Eagles' last Super Bowl appearance - Inquirer
Rodney Harrison remembers watching the Eagles hooping and hollering before Super Bowl XXXIX and thinking that the first-timers would be gassed in the Jacksonville, Fla., humidity by the fourth quarter. "I remember pregame warm-ups, they're coming out and you see Brian Dawkins and all those guys and all the energy," Harrison said. "You see them jumping around hitting each other, and we're just kind of laid back, chilling, [saying], 'Look at these fools over there. They're going to wear themselves out.' "And you saw Donovan [McNabb] throwing up. You saw a team that was really overexcited to play."

Jeremy Maclin remains confident he'll re-sign with Eagles, but leaves some doubt it'll actually happen - NJ.com
One day after Eagles running back LeSean McCoy spoke about his status with the team heading into next season, his teammate Jeremy Maclin expressed the same cautious optimism that he as well will be returning. "Yeah. I've always said that," Maclin said. "But at the same time you have understand what is going on."

Pete Carroll: Eagles will be dangerous with Chip Kelly in power - CSN Philly
Over the next several months, Kelly for the first time will embark on a free agency period and draft where he’s making all the decisions. And Carroll thinks it’s a great idea. "In my opinion, the coaches should always have that decision-making ability," he said Wednesday. "Without that, I don't think they can create the team they're capable of creating." Carroll spoke with Comcast SportsNet’s John Clark Tuesday at Super Bowl media activities in Glendale, Arizona. "The fact that Chip's gotten that here in this offseason I think will only enhance his effect," Carroll said. "He's done a great job in transitioning from college to the league already, but this will enhance his opportunity to build his team more quickly. "I think they're going to be very dangerous because of that."

A Busy To-Do List For The Eagles - PE.com
With Ed Marynowitz in as the Eagles’ vice president of player personnel and working in lock step with head coach Chip Kelly, the team can move through its offseason checklist and prepare for free agency and the draft. What are the tasks ahead? Plenty, and all of them are important …
