Pro Bowl 2015 Recap: Cody Parkey, Darren Sproles shine for the Eagles

A recap of how the Eagles performed in a meaningless game.

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The 2015 Pro Bowl is over. Team Irvin defeated Team Carter by a final score of 32-28.

That's probably all you really need to know about the game. But since this is an Eagles blog, here's a brief recap of how Eagles players performed:

K Cody Parkey: Extra points were from the 15-yard line (instead of the usual two-yard mark, so about 33 yards) in this game and the goal posts were 14 feet on extra points (instead of the usual 18.6). Despite this, Parkey nailed his first extra point. Funny enough, Parkey's former Colts teammate Adam Vinatieri missed his first PAT kick. (Parkey > Vinatieri!) Parkey also hit his second PAT. Baller.

PR/RB Darren Sproles: Picked up 17 yards on a catch and run of before being tackled by teammate Connor Barwin on the second play of the game. Finished with three rushes for 42 yards to go with seven receptions for 86 yards. Sproles looked spry as ever.

OLB Connor Barwin: Tackled Sproles on the second play of the game. Missed a tackle on DeMarco Murray after exploding into the backfield. Played as a 4-3 weakside linebacker, which is new to him. Barwin plays 3-4 outside linebacker (JACK) for the Eagles and has experience playing at 4-3 defensive end. Finished with

C Jason Kelce: Blocked well.

OG Evan Mathis: Blocked well. (You can't get this kind of analysis anywhere else, folks.)

LS Jon Dorenbos: No bad snaps, but a lot of selfies.

Since Dorenbos and Sproles were on Team Irvin, they received a $55,000 bonus for being on the winning side. Parkey, Kelce, Mathis, and Barwin went home with an extra $28,000.

Now that the Pro Bowl is out of the way, all eyes turn to Super Bowl XLIX between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots. Back to real football for one more week and then it's all over.
