Jeremy Maclin isn't headed to Arizona for the 2015 Pro Bowl after all. According to a report from Alex Marvez of FOX Sports, the Eagles wide receiver has opted out of the game for "personal reasons." He will be replaced by Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate.

Maclin had been originally named as a third team alternate to this year's Pro Bowl. The Eagles originally announced Maclin's addition to the roster on Friday night after Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas opted out due to injury reasons.
The reason behind Maclin opting out probably has something to do with the fact he will be a free agent this offseason. With a big pay day on the horizon, Maclin is playing it safe by opting not to suit up for the meaningless Pro Bowl game.
Maclin isn't the only Eagles player to opt out. Running back LeSean McCoy was also excused from the Pro Bowl due to (non-serious) injury reasons.
With Maclin and McCoy out, the Eagles are sending seven players to the 2015 Pro Bowl: offensive tackle Jason Peters, running back/punt returner Darren Sproles, center Jason Kelce, outside linebacker Connor Barwin, offensive guard Evan Mathis, rookie kicker Cody Parkey, and long snapper Jon Dorenbos. Keep in mind that special teamer Chris Maragos (second team) and defensive end Fletcher Cox (sixth team) are still available alternates.
The Pro Bowl game will take place next week on Jan. 25 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona.
