According to a report from CBS Houston, the Texans are trying to prevent the Eagles from hiring away Houston director of pro personnel Brian Gaine. Philadelphia interviewed Gaine for the team's vacant general manager position earlier this month.

Gaine talked with the Eagles on Sunday about their open position and also interviewed with the Bears for their open GM job earlier this offseason. The Bears hired Ryan Pace
Many in league circles have said that Rick Smith, Texans General Manager, know Texans head coach Bill O’Brien and Gaine are very close and this is an impact keeping Gaine in Houston.
Jason La Canfora wrote in December that the Texans could promote Smith to a higher position in the front office and move Gaine into the general manager spot."
So it appears Gaine is out of the running for the Eagles' job. That's too bad for Philadelphia, especially because they just love to acquire former members of the Texans.
The Eagles GM' search has kind of cooled off recently. There haven't been any updates since it was reported earlier in the week that the Eagles haven't contacted Seahawks' executive Scott Fitterer.
Chip Kelly has to hire a personnel guy eventually... right?
